Australian comedian Celeste Barber went viral in 2015 for her recreations of international celebrity Instagram photos. Since then she has continued to delight viewers with the hilarious parody account and now has 4.5m Instagram followers herself, including some famous fans like the Kardashians.
Far from an overnight sensation, Barber has appeared onscreen in Australian shows All Saints, Home & Away and comedy series How Not to Behave. The side-by-side photos which she dubbed the #celestechallengeaccepted project, began as an inside joke between her and her sister. "We would see some celebrity on social media saying, 'This is me, just dropping my kids off at school.' Well, this is what I look like dropping my kids off at school," she told the Daily Telegraph.
What once was a personal gag turned into a viral hit and then into a body positivity movement. People were inspired by the actresses photos of her scantily-clad showing off her body unapologetically, but Barber explains the initial intention was not quite as deep. "Sure, I am a feminist, and who gives a sh*t about what you look like? But I can get people laughing," said Barber, "That's how I get my message across. Don't ask me what my message is though, 'cause f*cked if I know."
Once again she reappears with a new collection of funny and ridiculous poses so scroll down and have a laugh!
